We collect as little as possible. This policy explains what happens to information when you visit this website, and the choices you have.

Who we are
This website is run by Ogechi Collective, a film and media arts collective based in Abuja, Nigeria (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for personal data processed through this website.

What we collect
This website has no accounts, no forms, no newsletter sign-up and no advertising. We do not use analytics or tracking tools, and we do not sell or share personal data for marketing.
Technical data. Like every website, the servers that deliver these pages receive standard technical information from your browser: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time of the request. Our hosting provider keeps this in short-lived server logs, used only to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose faults.
Messages you send us. If you contact us by email or on social media, we receive the details you choose to share, such as your name, handle and message. We use them only to reply and to keep a record of our conversation.
Casting applications. If you apply to a casting call, you email us your headshot, a recorded monologue and any details you include, such as your name, age and contact information. We use these only to consider you for that production and to contact you about it. Only the people casting the film see them.
Why we use it
We process technical data because we have a legitimate interest in running a secure, working website. We process messages you send us to respond to your request, and casting applications to assess them for the role you applied for, at your request. We never use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
Links to other sites
We link to Instagram and YouTube, where we share our work. Those services have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave this website. Links to other sites open in a new tab.
How long we keep it
Server logs are kept for a short period set by our hosting provider and then deleted. We keep correspondence for as long as it is useful for the conversation or project it relates to, then delete it. We keep casting applications until casting for that production is complete, then delete them unless you have agreed that we may keep them for future roles.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and where applicable the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to or ask us to restrict how we use it;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To make a request, contact us by email at ogechicollective@gmail.com. We will respond within the time the law allows. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (opens in a new tab) or your local data protection authority.
Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We limit who can access any personal data we hold and keep it only as long as we need it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal data, for example by adding a contact form or analytics, we will update this page before the change takes effect and revise the date above. See also our terms of use.
